Finding Theo David’s artwork was an exciting discovery during Candi and
Rob’s visit to France in 2003. In St. Emilion, a beautiful gallery there
was having a one-man show of his work. His gallery representative was
also visiting the show and from that, began Nuance’s showing of Theo’s
work. His artwork had never been brought to the United States before
this.
Theo uses all natural pigments to create his artwork in a way similar to
that of the ancient Egyptians. You will find symbology in his artwork
representing many earlier civilizations such as the Sumerians of ancient
Mesopotamia, the Phoenicians, Egyptian hieroglyphs and early Hebraic
writing. He also refers back to the earliest cave painting of Lascoux,
France. His mixed media pieces give rare glimpses into the past and
present, and send an emotional message of his belief in the common
ground of mankind. |
